Be Our Guest Restaurant

ILocated in the Magic Kingdom Park, the Be Our Guest Restaurant is in Fantasyland below the Beast’s castle.  The restaurant has all the splendor that one would expect from a fine table service venue.  The restaurant has three main dining locations, the Grand Ballroom, the West Wing, and the Castle Gallery.  All three have their own ambience and provide guests with a wonderful dining experience.

The Grand Ballroom is the central area, and all guests enter through it.  It is expansive but is lavish in all details.  The West Wing provides a glimpse into the Beast’s private area and the rose can be seen counting down his time.  The Castle Gallery is Belle’s library decorated with artwork.  And, you will find Belle and the Beast captured dancing in the figurines that are central to this room.

For dining, adults (age 10 and up) are served a three-course prix fixe meal.  You have options for the appetizer and entrée.  The dessert is a set of three delicious offerings that is a treat to the taste buds.

During our visit, we selected the mixed field greens and the lobster bisque for appetizers.  The salad was very fresh, and the Stone Fruit Vinaigrette was a nice compliment.  The lobster bisque was outstanding with a nice quantity of lobster that was perfectly cooked.  For the entrée, the filet mignon was chosen by both of us.  It was cooked perfectly to our requests and was as tender as a filet mignon should be.  It is served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.  Our vegetables were green beans, which were served al dente and not overcooked.  For dessert, the trio consisted of a macaroon, a dark chocolate truffle, and the grey stuff (it’s delicious!) served in a white chocolate cup made to resemble Chip.

We did not have any children with us, but they also get a choice of appetizer, entrée, vegetables, and dessert.

But, what about the Beast?  The Beast does make regular appearances during your dinner.  During our experience, the Beast spent the most time in the Grand Ballroom, followed by the Castle Gallery, and then the West Wing.  In the Grand Ballroom, he would walk up and down the main aisle and provide guests with photo opportunities.  Guests could not pose with him, but could take pictures from their tables.  The same thing occurred in the Castle Gallery as he made his way around the room.  The West Wing is where he spent the least time.  We suspect that this is because it is darker in that area and it may be harder for him to see.  If you are dining in the West Wing, we would suggest you go into the Grand Ballroom when he appears and that will provide you with better photo opportunities.

The service that is provided to you is outstanding.  The waitstaff is very attentive and service was what would be expected in an upscale restaurant.

Another thing to mention is that the restaurant is one of the few places in the Magic Kingdom Park where adult (alcoholic) beverages are served.  They have a nice selection of wines and beer, so if you want to compliment your meal with a beverage, you should be able to find one that suits your taste.

Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Be Our Guest Restaurant.  The service, the food, the ambience, and the character interaction were all excellent.  No matter where you are seated, be sure to take a walk around before you leave and explore all the areas of the restaurant.  Be sure to visit the Suit of Armor room near the entrance.  They are sure to entertain.

We will be back in the future to enjoy another experience!
